FlexLight LC4500-UV

The FlexLight™ LC4500UV projector is a production-ready, full-featured implementation of the Texas Instruments DLP4500 chipset.  This chipset includes the powerful DLPC350 processor and 0.45″ WXGA DMD with more than 1million pixels.

 

The LC4500UV  provides a  high resolution projector for your 3D measurement and display applications using the Texas Instruments DLP4500 chipset. An on-axis projection lens with a 1.2 throw-ratio provides excellent uniformity; and short focus capability enables a wide range of applications, starting with 3D printing.


Keynote Photonics LRS-4KA UV Projector

Keynote Photonics has launched production of the new LRS-4KA UV projector:  This Ultra High Definition UV projector provides an outstanding combination of advanced DLP™ electronics and high-performance optics.  Using Texas Instruments’ latest DLP660TE ™ DMD, this projector can display over 8 million pixels using a high-power LED source.

Designed specifically for stationary high-resolution stereolithography applications, the LRS-4KA will be a core element of the next-generation of 3D printers.  By providing complete control of an integrated optical actuator, you can address 8.3 million unique pixel locations, enabling the manufacturing of extremely high-resolution parts.

The system comprises an UV-optimized optical system and a selection of different UV LED light sources with optical output power up to 3.5 watts.    The projector features a high-performance optical assembly from Visitech and is available with two different projection lens magnifications: 14x or 17x.  Since the DLP660TE DMD uses 5.4 micron mirrors, these lenses can display 75 or 92 micron pixels.  Through its use of the optical actuator, the 14x lens provides a pixel pitch of 54 microns and printed features that are less than 38 microns.

Although the internal electronics were originally based on Texas Instruments’ reference design, Keynote includes significant improvements in our custom design:

  • Pixel-Pure Images: The LRS-4KA allows you to input your images at the precise resolution of the actual DMD chip (2 separate 2712 x 1528 images). Our custom chipset and firmware ensure that your data will never be scaled or resampled in any way!
  • Precise Control of the Optical Actuator: The LRS-4KA gives you complete control over the timing of optical actuator, allowing you to design your slicing algorithm to take advantage of the ultra-high def resolution in multiple ways.
  • High-Speed Flexible Architecture: The LRS-4KA electronics can be purchased separately.  Since our design uses a flexible micro-coaxial cable to connect the control electronics with the DMD, it allows you to easily integrate our electronics with your own custom optics.

FlexLight 4K-HLD-405 EVM

The FlexLight 4K-HLD-405 is a modification of our standard 4K evaluation projector.  Instead of displaying high resolution images using red, green, and blue LEDs, we have replaced the Blue LED with a UV LED wavelength centered on 405 nm.

We have also modified the projector’s firmware to map all of the input data to the “blue” channel.  By doing so, we dedicate the entire exposure time to projecting UV data.  This greatly increases the energy available to expose your photo-sensitive material.  This opens new opportunities in areas such as 3D printing and photo-lithography.

Just like our 4K RGB display projector, this UV version comes with direct support to interact with the TI DLP 4K chipset using TI’s DLP Composer(tm) software.  With a standard USB connection and Keynote’s custom “.projector” file, you can easily control the display settings to match your own requirements.

For the highest pixel resolution in high-power UV-capability projectors, Keynote offers the Visitech LUXBEAM® RAPID SYSTEM (LRS).  The LUXBEAM® LRS product line provides robust light engine configurations for industrial implementations, comprising various high resolution DMD micro displays with highly efficient optical cores.

Application areas: primarily high-end industrial implementations, but also high-end scientific applications with demands for high optical power output (UV or VIS), high resolution, superior frame rates, single pixel control such as
• 3D Print/Additive Manufacturing
• CtP and lithographic printing
• Inline inspection
• Life Science and biotechnology
• Structured illumination
including advanced implementations with scrolling, subpixelation (SPX) and pixel power control (PPC).

The LRS can be configured in 2 ways:

1) for stand still projection, as typically used in rapid prototyping / manufacturing.

2) for combining the LRS with a synchronized and controlled motion system for scrolling over a larger area and keep the resolution or even increase it.

The LRS thoroughly supports large scale manufacturing of many equal parts at high speed. The LRS uses the advantage of a moving photo head to create a large build area and enables smart functions like Subpixelation (SPX) for resolution enhancement, and Pixel Power Control (PPC) ensuring equal amount of energy to each pixel in the resin.

The system includes an UV LED light source which in combination with the robust and reliable DLP® technology provides a system with long life time and low maintenance cost. The LRS is configurable and is available in single or multi head configuration to fit the needs for throughput and build area in the machine. The already proven and reliable LRS is a plug and play system/module that will enable customers to design, build and brand a Rapid Manufacturing machine with a very short time to market  and with low technical risk.

The LRS will provide a system capable of 25µm in XYZ resolution in combination with 10 – 20 cm width of build area and a customer defined length in the motion direction, – typical 1 meter. Other configurations with higher or lower resolution can be configured via dedicated lens design.

Our reference Lithography machine is available for demonstration and test manufacturing of samples for evaluation of single layer 3D perfomance and throughput.

LENS OPTIONS

The reference projection lenses are mostly dedicated lens designs optimized for transmission and image performance in Deep-Blue and N-UV applications. A wide range with different lens magnification options is offered.

Customization options are available for other magnifications. The magnification is the scaling factor from the native DMD pixel pitch into the image plane, while the power factor indicates the scaling factor for light engine optical power output to image plane, given by the projection lens numerical aperture.
